How I viewed MARRIAGE when I was single

I see nothing wrong of getting married and I see nothing wrong of remaining single. It is the right timing that I worry of whether until when should I remain single or when should I really get married. More so, I want the blessing of my leaders and pastors in the church, the blessing of my parents, and most of all the blessing of God by the time I get married. The reason why there are marriages that don’t stand because it was not blessed by their parents. They went into it in a hurry or maybe they went into it just for the sake of getting married without getting the true value of it.

Marriage is a covenant. Its timeframe is lifetime. That is why it is not easy to jump into it if you are not sure you want to spend the rest of your life with that person. I am waiting for that time we’ll be proud to announce to the whole world the thing we call such as “betrothal”. That is the best thing I could share to my sons and daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. It is a legacy I will pass on to the young people under my ministry and to my family as well. It is always being the good example that I want to be inside and outside the church not because I want to but it is His command. If you love Him, you will obey Him. It says in 1Timothy 4:12, “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”

I also want my parents to be proud of me especially when choosing the right decisions. Things sometimes are hard for me to straighten out but I see God’s mighty hand stretching forth in these times of inconveniences. More so, right now I am enjoying meeting a lot of people and they seeing me being a contented single, whole, and don’t feel all alone. I learned to forget what lies behind.

There are a lot of things to consider in entering marriage. I have plans to get married of course. But to be single forever is better than spending my life with Mr. Wrong. One thing I desire is a betrothal one day that will give glory to God. In marriage, there is nothing I desire but a God-centered life.

Demanding Time

       A mother of two. A wife of a husband that's always on the go. An educator. I characterize all and each demands much from me.

      Time however, fleets like a wisp of breath and beats like a string of lyre. It demands my speed...a speed that gears towards rush for each work I do. I am just mesmerized by this strength from within. This soul that sings unceasingly to her Creator. It banishes away this feeling of always rushing.

      I have learned to value time when it started to demand much of me. Life certainly is good if time has been wisely spent. Life is even more better if you have recognized there is no other God but Him who can save you from eternal death.
